Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have confirmed their split after weeks of speculation about the state of their relationship.
Katy and Orlando began dating in 2016 and got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019. In 2020, they welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.
The couple recently broke off their engagement, and a source Us Weekly that the two remain “amicable” and their separation has been “not contentious.”
Now, a new joint statement reveals the American pop star and the British actor decided to go their separate ways “over the past months.”

“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” representatives said in the statement.
“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
“Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”
Their breakup had allegedly been “a long time coming,” as their relationship had been rocky for months.

News of their split comes after reports that Katy and Orlando had been spending “more and more time apart” and weren’t “living the same lives anymore,” as per Us Weekly.
Their marital troubles were “unspoken,” another source claimed, adding that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor had been keeping his struggles “close to the vest.”
“Katy has been very busy working, and they are apart often. That has caused tension.”

Speculation intensified when Orlando attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding weekend in Venice without a plus-one.
Many expected Katy to join him, especially since she had attended Lauren’s bachelorette party in Paris. However, her absence was attributed to a scheduling conflict with her Lifetimes Tour in Australia.
At the wedding, Orlando was seen chatting with Kim Kardashian and Sydney Sweeney, the latter described as the “most sought-after person” at the party.
The 48-year-old actor had also shared cryptic social media posts about sadness and loneliness.

One quote he posted, by the late psychiatrist Carl Jung, read, “Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself.”
Then, he posted a second quote by Jung, which read, “Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.”
Amid rumors of their split, it emerged that Katy and Orlando were renting out their $30 million Montecito mansion to Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger.

They reportedly decided to live apart since Katy’s Lifetimes Tour kicked off in April.
The Firework hitmaker was seen fighting back tears on stage this week while addressing her fans at a show in Adelaide and thanking them for “always being there” for her.
It’s believed that the negative reviews of Katy’s latest album, 143, and the criticism of her tour affected the dynamics of her relationship with Orlando.

“Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album. It made her very stressed,” a source told People magazine.
“Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.
“Leaving American Idol, releasing her lackluster album, the debacle over her space mission, and her struggling tour have been disappointing and stressful,” a separate insider claimed.

Last year, Orlando spoke on Trevor Noah’s What Now? podcast about how he and Katy kept the spark alive despite their busy schedules.

He continued: “But I think I just keep coming back to her and trying to hold her hand and walk her back to the sand pit and be like … we’re just gonna build a sandcastle.”
