I got the news that Charlie Kirk had died while live on air yesterday afternoon. It’s been a rough 36 hours. The nation lost an extraordinary man — a true leader for America’s youth. I first met Charlie some 9 or so years ago when we invited him on my show… and I said to the producers — we need to get him back over and over again. What a gifted communicator he was. All my love to his wife and children. He will be so missed.

It’s hard to come to terms with living in a country where instead of defeating an opponent’s ideas in open debate, we’d rather murder them in public. He literally died sitting under a tent that said “prove me wrong” while dissenters held his microphone, addressed his crowd and openly disagreed with him.
